Our Story
Company History
Founded in Tacoma, WA
Marcus Webb, a 20-year Tacoma PD veteran, identified a gap in the market: small businesses and property managers couldn't afford enterprise security firms but needed professional-grade protection. He launched Apex Security Group with 6 certified officers and a single marked patrol vehicle, focusing on Washington's South Sound.
First Major Commercial Contract
Secured a multi-property contract covering 12 commercial storefronts in a Pierce County retail corridor. This validated our model of combining a visible presence with data-driven patrol reporting. By year end, the team had grown to 18 officers.
GPS Patrol Technology & Fleet Expansion
Deployed GPS-verified patrol reporting across all routes. Officers began issuing real-time, photo-attached incident reports accessible to clients on the same shift. Patrol fleet grew to 4 marked vehicles — each equipped with dashcam and officer body cam.
Statewide Security Agency License
Received full Washington State Security Agency License enabling statewide operations. Expanded service area into King County and opened our first satellite office in Renton, bringing professional patrol coverage to the greater Seattle metro.
Event Security Division Launched
Secured a contract with a 3,500-capacity Seattle venue and launched our dedicated Event Security division. Specialized training for crowd management, credential verification, and emergency coordination opened an entirely new service line.
50+ Officers Across Three Counties
Crossed the 50-officer milestone and expanded to Snohomish County. We retained 94% of clients year-over-year — a metric we're proud of in an industry where turnover is common. Apex continues to grow while preserving the personal service standards Marcus established in 2018.

15 years in private security. Manages the patrol fleet, GPS reporting system, and rapid-response protocols. Certified in emergency vehicle operations and defensive driving.

Training & Compliance
ASIS Certified Protection Professional. Designs and runs all officer training: use-of-force, CPR/AED, and de-escalation. Every Apex officer is current on certifications before their first shift.
